Ridings Rd, Remuera

Constructed in the late 1800s this was one of rural Remuera’s original Kauri Villas. Renovations included extensions to the upper and lower level living spaces, a new garage, bathrooms and kitchen.

This included an upgrade of the existing deck and landscaping throughout, with a pool constructed at the end of the property overlooking Rangitoto Island.

Traditional features were maintained throughout, with the recycling of the existing wide format skirtings and architraves and installation of natural timber flooring to the extensions. Refurbished kitchen and bathrooms modernised the interior space, adding a contemporary touch. The original wood burners were replaced with gas fireplaces, utilising the original chimney stack, with an elegant Polished Plaster surround provided by our friends at Ambitec (NZ) Ltd.
